But is this really the best way to go? What is the REAL goal of MLM recruiting in the first place? Understanding why we recruit can mean life or death for your business.
Let’s start with the basics.
What Is MLM Recruiting?
If you have been involved in network marketing for any amount of time, OR you have fell “victim” to someone else’s prospecting efforts you know what MLM recruiting is.
But I’ll define it anyway.
Network marketing recruiting, is simply the act of finding other entrepreneurs to join your business as a partner. In this case, our first mission is NOT to sell product to our potential recruits, but instead to bring them on board with them intending to grow a business.
What’s The REAL Reason We Recruit a Downline?
The MLM compensation structure is set up so that we are able to earn a commission off of the things that we personally sell. We can also earn a smaller commission off of the things that our downline sells.
That make sense – Right?
This is why many network marketers put a lot of effort into MLM recruiting. If we have a team selling products that we earn a commission from, if frees up our time to focus on other things – Right?
But here is the thing.
The NUMBER ONE REASON to recruit a downline is NOT to have your downline focus on finding more business builders.
The REAL Reason We Recruit A Downline Is So That We Can Teach And Train Them To SELL Our Company Product Or Service.
This concept is so simple, I know. Yet most new networkers are so hesitant to actually sell anything that they find it much more comfortable to share the business opportunity instead.
Having this mindset is a BAD move for a number of reasons that are beyond the scope of this article.
But to be successful in network marketing, here is how you should think about your business.
Think of your business as a small sales force. Really no different than the sales team in any traditional business.
The primary goal of the sales team (that’s you) is to SELL the product. Hiring and training more salesmen (or in our case recruiting new business builders) only comes SECOND to selling the product.
I can almost guarantee that if you begin to put your focus on retailing product instead of on MLM recruiting you will find your business growing beyond your belief.
