This whole concept came from a favourite book I’ve been listening to on an audiobook. I was listening while I was driving over to the other side of the city (Sydney) and instead of wasting my time while I was driving, I thought I’d catch up on some personal development stuff.

The book I’m into right now is called “How To Make Every Man Want You” … but before all the men stop reading here, I want to explain that this book isn’t really just about how to make every MAN want you, but how to make LOTS of PEOPLE attracted to you in various relationships – that means business included.

I mean that in terms of business, so you can learn to attract people into your network marketing team.

Really, the network marketing industry is just like a big competition, where most people gravitate towards the my “Attractive” leader. SO, what I mean is that if you just complain and whine all the time – you act like a VICTIM, or as I like to put it “You Live In VictimHood” … and those who live in VictimHood are UNATTRACTIVE!!!!!

You know those people who are constant complainers, whining all the time about how their boss is so mean, their kids don’t appreciate them, they’re too fat, too skinny, too …. blah blah blah … are you honestly attracted to these kind of people – NO WAY!

The people who are never short of friends are the ones who are likable and positive and confident. They don’t live in VictimHood, so there’s no use you hanging out their either. Surround yourself with leadership and learn from them – only then will you attract people to your network marketing business.

Again – look at the most successful people in the industry – are they living in VICTIMHOOD? And … even if you say “NO, but that’s because they are successful” … I can guarantee you they didn’t get where they are now by complaining!

Quit your complaining, surround yourself with as much leadership as possible and get out of VictimHood. You will become a Network Marketing leader in no time!

You know when things get tough? … Sometimes you ask yourself “Can I do this anymore?”

1. Message is more important than delivery. It doesn’t matter how many people see your adds if your Message is wrong. Saying things like: Earn $40,000 in 4 weeks!!! sounds too good to be true and will be treated like it’s too good to be true. 4. Become the Expert. People join people, not companies. If you could join an MLM company under the top distributor or a new recruit, which would you pick? Your leads are thinking the same thing. They want to join someone who can guide them to success. You must be that person, or become that person.

5. Leverage the Internet. Newspaper adds are okay, however the internet can reach millions of people every day. Newspapers can’t. With some good advertising and access to so many people, amazing results can be achieved. Merging Internet Marketing with Network Marketing is how many of the top earners in our industry have built their fortunes.

That’s it for the basics, but 4 and 5 are the ones that will really give you trouble. They both take significant effort to learn and master, but its worth it. You’ll need to get training from an expert unless you want to waste massive amounts of time and money on trial-and-error. The Good news: many experts offer free MLM training. When I ask people that are getting started in Internet marketing why they want to start a new business the answers are usually the same, they want to make more money. Making more money or becoming a millionaire is not the why to a business. Making money is the result of your “why.” You must think about your “why.” Determining your why will help you to not only grow your own business but will help you inspire others.

What does it mean to create your why? Creating your why entails creating a specific statement that represents why you are starting your own business. Your why will specifically state what you want to achieve, what is your belief, or what is your purpose, in starting your own business. Your why has to be extremely specific, quantifiable, achievable, and of course, relevant. Your why starts with your prior experiences, it is part of who you are, what you believe in, and where you have come from.

Determining and understanding your why means thinking about and understanding who you are, examining your prior experiences and how these experiences, good or bad has helped develop who you are today. Examine the times in your life when your energy level was high, and determine what contributed to the high energy level. Many times it involves a specific belief or purpose that is important to you.

Your why involves your cause. The cause of your business does not change, though the course of action or how you achieve your cause may change. To maintain focus means to maintain your focus on the cause.

A famous “why” by one of my mentors, Jay Kubassek, is “To Create 100 Millionaires by 2012.” This in turn became the mission statement of his company. Another example, if you are in the fitness industry, would be, “Helping 100 People Lose 10+ pounds.”

It took me some time to really grasp my “why.” I had no idea when I first started what my “why” was. I had to find a way to combine the things that I loved and determine what my true purpose and passion was. So based on my previous experiences and the things that I enjoy in life, I was able to create my “why.” My “why” is to, help 100 people do what inspires them, to achieve their goals and to create their best life without limits. I give you this as an example so that you will be able to create your “why.” Once I created my “why” my business flourished!

Now take some time to create your “why”. Determining your “why” will help your network marketing business grow, and will help you attract people into your Internet business that have the same belief as you. Distraction used to be a major killer in my online business and I know I’m not the only one. Today, I was doing a strategy session with someone and they admitted they keep getting distracted from what they’re supposed to be doing and now they’re a bit overwhelmed.

It’s actually pretty common to get distracted and that’s what the online marketers want – they want to distract you from your work, so you look at their stuff and want to buy it – I can’t count how many times I went to just check my emails and ended up pulling out my credit card to buy another product … there goes another $97! So, this list will get you to keep on track, so you can do what brings in your income.

1) Minimum Email Checking – I’m not going to say “Only check it once a day” – that’s ridiculous, but maybe keep it to once an hour or every couple of hours.

2) Turn off Facebook! WHY?? – Facebook is my “Kryptonite” and for majority of people the biggest time waster in the world – I have wasted ssssooooo many hours pretending I was actually using Facebook for “networking” pppffffttt! Yeah right! I used to have a window with Facebook open all day!!!!

3) Offline business mentality – What I mean by this is … If you ran an offline business such as a real estate business or an interior design company – would you have the TV on in your office? Or would you go off shopping while you’re supposed to be calling potential clients? Would you be reading magazines while you’re drawing up contracts? Of course NOT! When it was put like this to me, my whole mindset about my business shifted.

4) NOTEPAD: Keep a notepad next to you and jot down all your ideas and websites caught your attention when you were doing a task. I do this, so I keep focused on what I’m doing and then go back later to check them out properly. I save a bit of time each day to browse things that I’m interested in – this is fun and so I never feel like I miss out.

5) EXERCISE! Richard Branson famously said that WORKING OUT is his secret to being productive!

6) Plan your day the night before: This only needs to take 5 minutes, but jot down the tasks you want to get done. There is lots of evidence to back up the theory that planning your day the night before helps your focus and productivity the next day.

7) Get in a routine: Here’s an example of a typical day for me

8-11am – Phone call time. I call prospects and also follow up with some team members.

11-midday I like to learn/teach at this time, so I am either presenting a webinar or listening to some webinar training.

Midday – Afternoon – I create and distribute 1 piece of content each day – This is my marketing strategy that I’m using, so it really depends how you generate leads, but my marketing takes me about 2 hours a day because I post it on my blog, then email to my list, post it to multiple article directories, then turn it into a video and submit to video directories and then bookmark it on many bookmarking & social media sites. I do NOT do anything else until this is finished – this is my main marketing method – my bread and butter, so it’s important it gets done each day no matter what!

This is not a rigid routine as I have kids, so sometimes the content gets done at night because I had to take my kids to an appointment, or I will record a training call and listen to it later, but the more stable and consistent you are, the better your results!

8 ) Have your goals/dreams in front of you – I read a book called “The Passion Test” by Janet Attwood and this helped me really define my goals and dreams, so now my “TOP 5 are on my pin board and in my purse to constantly remind me of what I REALLY want. If you get sidetracked, then a quick glance at those and you’ll stop looking at the latest Brangelina photos on TMZ or using the Facebook chat!
